Whether you're looking to get back into the sport, or learn for the first time, it's never too late, and you can't start soon enough. Sailing is a lifelong skill and it's waiting for YOU!

Want to try your hand at sailing?

Hueston Sailing Association (HSA) is sponsoring its 22nd annual Sailing School Program at Acton Lake in Hueston Woods State Park. HSA members will be available to provide full instructional lessons and/or just a short free sailing experience, depending on your interest level.  HSA is a welcoming club that aims to introduce everyone to the sport of sailing. Our members love any excuse to sail and are eager to take you out on their boats, or engage you as a crew member to help you get started on beautiful Acton Lake.

What do we offer?

Sailing Experience

N partnership with Hueston Woods State Park, and with the generous support of the Visitor's Bureau, HSA is excited to offer two introductory sailing experiences to the public each year. These excursions are completely free, and life jackets are provided, so come on out and see if sailing is for you! Along with the sailing, enjoy delicious grilled picnic food, making for a perfect day on the water. Don't miss this opportunity to embrace the beauty of nature while learning the joys of sailing!.

Directions/ Location

Hueston Sailing Association is based on Acton Lake, in Hueston Woods State Park near Miami University and Oxford, Ohio. Hueston Woods is an easy and scenic drive from Cincinnati or Dayton. Acton Lake is ideal for small boat sailing. Power boats are limited to no wake speed, which means that sailors can enjoy their sport without the interference of wakes from jet skis or skiers. The marina area has spacious set up areas for prepping your boat, and excellent launch facilities. A paved dry storage lot is available for those who like to keep their boat at the lake out of the water, or some prefer to rent a slip and keep their boat on the water. The State Park has facilities for social gatherings year round. This environment means the club does not need to maintain its own facilities, so the cost of membership is very low.
