Special Awards
 
COMMODORE BOIES PERPETUAL TROPHY

Donated by Robert Boies in 1959. This trophy represents the Hueston Sailing Association Championship by competition in a series of races which tests the skill of the Fleet Champion of each eligible Fleet.

BOB'S SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD

Donated by Bob Darlin in 1962. Awarded annually for distinguished service and sportsmanship. Selection is made by the Executive Committee or by a suggestion approved by the membership.

FRANK PETERS MEMORIAL SPORTSMANSHIP TROPHY

Donated by Robert Boies in 1972. Awarded to a person for sportsmanship exhibited over the competitive sailing season. Sportsmanship is not to be construed with winning. The winner is selected by suggestion from the Permanent Race Committee with the approval of the Executive Committee, or by the Executive Committee.

US SAILING SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD

Donated by the U.S. Sailing Association in 1986. Awarded to the person (1) who has done the most to improve or promote the sport of sailing on Acton Lake or (2) who, through consistent example and exemplary behavior on and off the race course, has contributed to and promoted the sport of sailing on Acton Lake. Selection is made by the Executive Committee from nominations submitted by the membership.

RICHARD SAUNDERS MEMORIAL TROPHY

Created in 1980 in memory of Richard Saunders. Awarded to the HSA member, who is 18 years of age or under on November 1st of the current year, who has the most overall enthusiasm for sailing activities within and without HSA. It is not necessary that the award be presented every year if a suitable candidate is not clearly eligible.

LARRY L. JOHNSON CHALLENGER TROPHY

Created in 1994 in memory of Larry L. Johnson. Awarded to the HSA member who constantly strives to improve their sailing skills, demonstrates good sportsmanship, is active within the Hueston Sailing Association and participates in a majority of the club's activities, while not qualifying for any other award, including any sailing series place award for the year. Selection is made by the Executive Committee from nominations submitted by the membership.

HSA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Awarded annually to the winner of the Hueston Sailing Association Junior Championship Regatta. Competition is open to all members ten (10) to seventeen (17) years old and is sailed in Sunfish.

HSA LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Awarded annually to the winner of the Hueston Sailing Association Ladies Championship Regatta. Competition is open to all women (HSA members and non-members) and is sailed in Sunfish.

SINGLEHANDED SUNFISH SERIES

Awarded annually to the overall winner of the year long Sunfish series. All races from each Singlehanded Race Date were scored towards the overall yearly winner. Competition is open to all Sunfish sailors.
